A balance of socio-cultural, economic, and environmental aspects of tourism. The Municipal Accommodations Tax (MAT) will help contribute to this balance.

• Complete the NOTL Tourism Strategy document, ensuring sustainability as a major feature

• Balance tourism’s current and future economic, social and environmental impacts, addressing the needs of community residents, visitors, the industry, and the environment.

• Improve resources for tourists (eg washrooms), funded by the MAT

• Explore hop-on hop-off shuttle for tourists with parking outside of old Town

• Implement traffic calming features to curb speeding and loud muffler noise

• Strengthen By-law enforcement eg noise, littering

• Examine short term rental density in certain areas and address noise issues

• Enforce tourist bus routes and designated parking

• Expand paid parking areas in old Town, allow for special resident parking permits, and increase the number of hours of the NOTL parking permits
