Balance the growth needs of our Town with the natural resources and ecosystems upon which our economy is based, particularly tourism.

  • Finalize the Official Plan, complete secondary plans and develop strong and clear zoning by-laws to implement our OP objectives, including the use of contextual zoning (eg reduce max. height allowed, increase min. setbacks, reduce built lot coverage).

  • Ensure that all plans are complementary eg OP, secondary plans, transportation plans, parks and recreation plans, etc.

  • Plan for variable densities across our urban areas in consideration of our heritage and environment.

  • Consider Low Impact Development (LID) or green infrastructure for new development areas eg Glendale

  • Explore extending the heritage district.
